from what I have gathered on the web, many of the anti-church type Christians see the Bush administration as a wicked incarnation of the beast of revelation.
it is indeed easy to polarize people instead of looking at the shades of grey that really compose the belief sytems of people.
imho this whole "christian" zealousness that is being pursued by the republican wing is merely to activate those people in the country who share christian beleifs to take action and vote for the person who APPEARS to stand for their beliefs against the tide of liberal corruption of America. they will be spit out too when they no longer serve a purpose, and this is something that we need to realize.
power uses what it can to gain a foothold. bush is probably more liberal than any president we have ever had if one looks at economics: export of jobs, allowing Mexican "illegal" immigrants into the country to do the dirty work, consolidation of power, relaxing anti-trust laws, etc.

anything i say will be nothing more than a concept or symbol of the reality which I am trying to express.
the same follows for the concept of God which I feel can best be approached through cultivating the proper frame of mind beyond thought. that is all that can be said, yet so much can be said.

GENERAL / General Board / Babylonian Thinking
|
on: January 22, 2004, 05:28:17 PM

The re-interpretation of Original African religion. This re-interpretation confuses what was originally not evil with evil. The original human(dark) and woman are equated with negative forces in the world in Babylonian thinking. Those who practiced an older religion which held the mother to be sacred were the older, darker races of the continents. As these original inhabitants were displaced by different populations, a re-interpretation occured of the original mythologies. I refer to this as Babylonian re-interpretation as this is a process which indeed took place in the area of ancient Babylon as the semites co-opted the original mythologies of the older and darker populations. The story is similar in India with the Aryan invasion. The question is . . . how much have we come away from Babylonian thinking if we do not examine the ORIGINS of this way of approaching our spiritual/religious trod. Judaism sprang out of the Babylonian way of re-interpretation and this way was carried over into Christianity. As Rasta is diametrically OPPOSED to Babylonian thinking, IandI must overstand the roots and seperate these ways from within IandI gates. Indeed we cannot exactly RETURN to the ancient ways as life is change, flux and adaptation . .. but IandI can make a CONSCIOUS effort to OVERSTAND and make those changes in our perspective and thinking necessary to manifest a beneficial trod. This is crucial to whomoever sites Rasta . .. black AND white. " . . . prayer and meditation used as a distraction? or does it help you ground yourself from thoughts that keep you in prison?
what are your ethics? does your prayer or meditation give you the peace you need to focus on your ethics with more energy?
prayer can be a seditive and opiate like TV and material goods
prayer can also help to break the fixation on the opiate, the tv and the material goods
is your prayer repressing emotions which need to be dealt with?
or is your prayer helping to break up the blockages which do nto allow these emotions to be properly dealt with?
every moment, we are serving something. it is folly to think of seperation of church and your state of mind. in the beginning was the word, before anything existed. manifestations in flesh are created from the thought generator. some say we have a godless society, when in reality we are worshipping all the time. fixation on an object is devotion to that object . . . whether it be a car, our job, our image. but still in the beginning was the word, your word, your thought which caused you to devote your energy to that object. pastors, preachers direct your devotion to what they say is god, but in reality are directing you towards and interpretation of a concept of god . . . it is still your thought in the end which determines your concept of god. that is reality.
so . .. how do you pray to whom?

It seems that your idea of Enlightenment is nothing more than oneupsmanship on which you have pasted on Buddhist philosophy.
"and regardless of whatever happens in this or any future politrics you will no doubt maintain your negativity of life, entirely missing Livity and the essence of life; which is to find your own personal connection with Jah, annihilate your ego, and experience ultimate bliss mixed with Sunyata (Emptiness)."
You are unbeleivably annoying with the way you present yourself. You are offensive to TRUE sufferers in the world, telling them that they can be happy in the midst of pain and anguish that you HAVE NOT A CLUE as to WHAT THEY GO THROUGH.(i.e. your statement about holocaust victims and Africans with AIDS). With your statements, the MINDSET which you espouse is what appears to be, as you accuse the moderator of this forum to be, the "rich hippie leftover crap from the '60's"

"even someone waiting to go into the gas chambers in Nazi Germany, could find happiness if they so wish; lets also remember there are persons suffering of every color....all over the world....just look at the Chetz situation, or how Tibetans and many, many others everywhere have suffered.....even those who are white and have the best of circumstances suffer.....in many ways,,,,,,they are never happy for more than a few hours at a time before lapsing into mental suffering or worry about whatever....that is suffering too; or someone living in Afrika with AIDS can even still be happy in the Heart as they lay dying.....it is good however, to take on the suffering of others but the I must be very skilled in doing that, converting the pain metaphyscially and sending it back out as love and healing....this is called 'taking and giving' , a practice given to the world by the Buddha, who was a Black mon by the way. Peace and Love, ......and live without guilt please!" !!!NO HE DIDN'T!!!!! (and I never use emoticons)

Dean hahahaha. George Soros backs Dean hahahaha. Go look up George Soros on-line, tell me who he is, PLEASE TELL ME. The motherf*****(and I mean that on an esoteric level as well hippie) is in the Carlyle group, same as Bush. He has bankrupted nations with currency speculation. He wants open borders around the world through his open society bullsh** for capitalist pigs such as himself to ransack at will. His problem with Bush is that he is too honest with his intended plans.
Kinder gentler New World Order. ahhh doesn't that feel better!

the rules don't apply when you get very high and they living out of their low places
and ethics not sound will tend to trickle down to the young and impressionable in most cases
so youthman stand strong in this here babylon and get not caught up in these rat races
for these pharisees and scribes when writing laws for our lives fail as they do to mention
that the religion for the poor is not the same behind closed doors for the rich bowing to the god of their intentions

HISTORY / Race Matters / WHITENESS IS A STATE OF MIND

PEACE. i have been reading a text called "the tibeten book of the great liberation" it is introduced with commentary on the actual work and therein it touches on the foundation concept i think many are trying to get to in regards to this "white/black" conception. in this introduction there is a comparison between "western" and "eastern" psychological mind sets. in regards to the european mindset it reads: "We(Europeans) naturally try to get as far away from our weaknesses as possible, a fact which may explain the sort of extraversion that is always seeking security by dominating its surroundings. Extraversion goes hand in hand with mistrust of the inner man, if indeed there is any consciousness of him at all. Moreover, we tend to undervalue the things we are afraid of." This is a quote by none other than Carl Jung, the famed German psychologist who wrote the introduction to this English translation of this Tibeten text. Is the European history of conquering and dominating and enslaving a function of the European man's psychology? This should not be misinterpreted to mean that European man is uncapable of transcending his cultural conditioning however. When raised from the innocence of infancy into a system DOMINATED by this mass-conscious psychological mindset, the result is another propogater of this un-balanced way of being. YET if European man(and perhaps others who are raised in a society whose dominant paradigm is one of this aversion to the inner man) is to overstand this FACT of his environment, then this is one of the steps in the quest to KNOWING THYSELF and breaking free from this leash of cultural conditioning which can not be sustained. This is one way RASTA has revealed to me as a white person.
