Greetings.
Wanted to start a discussion about the role of the goddess in old Europe. It seems that some like to place a lot of emphasis on the white, male European paradigm that has been conquering the world in the name of itself for quite some time now.
It is interesting though when one considers that it has been found that in many parts of old Europe, a goddess centered kind of religion was in practice. It has been argued that it was not until the invasion of "Indo-Europeans" from the East into Europe that the goddess worship was replaced with a dominating will-oriented Male oriented worship - what has been carried over into the dominant Christian religion is not necessarily an indigenous European invention, but perhaps was introduced from parts of Asia and the Middle-East.
I also think it is time to stop with the categorization and deliniation of the world into the borders that we are so familiar with when thinking about culture, which does not respect borders so much - and doing away with this notion when trying to overstand patterns of cultural development may be of great benefit.
If areas were close together, there is high likelihood of cultural diffusion.
