How do you feel about the Federal Communications Commission? Do you feel that they have over-stepped their boundries by pressuring companies to take certain people such as Howard Stern off the air? Do you feel that they should have the power to fine broadcasters for what people say on the air?

That is an amazing poem which unfortunately is too true. It's never made sense to me how someone can do that, take over an entire civilization and destroy it trying to get rid of their already present and beutiful culture. Right now, we're studying Vietnam and talking about the "White Man's Burden". It's atricious and horrific, and still present today in the ways that the Bush Administration is trying to make a puppet government in Iraq. We are once again repeating the past.

Such ignorence is no surprise at all to me. Please keep in mind, that as well as creating demented hypotheses about how wonderful they are, these men threw their feces out the window onto the street, and walked on them. These men exterminated dodos, digoes, the eastern elk, the labrador duck, the crescent nailtail wallaby, the moa, the Carribean monk seal, various thrushes, finches, hookbills, insects, spiders, and plants. Why would they spare their own species? These men burned others alive for following a different set of beliefs- and it was fun to watch the people die. These men beat their wives; why wouldn't they beat other people they thought were inferior? It was not the Africans or the "Mogoloids" or the "Indians" who were apathetic and stupid.

Thank you. I love to hear this song, especially on the radio, because it does say a lot. I am so glad that they are looking into the whole Iraq situation with the Bush administration. There's a lot of shit that has been swept under the rug with that. They haven't even found any of those "weapons of mass distruction".

There is still information that hasn't been "taken care of", though. For example, you had us read that packet from when the conquistidors came to South America.

What's wrong with the world, mam
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Badness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
N**, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love
The love, the love

It just ain't the same, always unchanged
New days are strange, is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With the ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the love, y'all

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love
The love, the love

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' our own direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive to lovers bound

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

An excellent song. I especially like the "Can you practice what you preach", as many people cannot. For example, my dad teaches in Sunday School that hypocrasy is bad, yet he is one of the biggest hypocrits I have ever seen.

There is a large absence of love in our modern society. People get caught up so much with "someone else can take care of this" and don't help. Others decide to show apathy and not care. "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" is taught to us in first grade, but it seems that by the time we're out of school, most people forget.

It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
